Today we started yet another week of Everett Agile Learning!
After setting the week and stating our intentions I set off on my offering of installing and launching a website in front of anyone who was interested. I was asked to help launch a website for the YANA (You Are Not Alone) community center in Rockaway Queens New York City.
I plugged my computer into the TV and went through the full process of installing WordPress on a remote server, configuring it and setting up all the DNS and domain name items.
Next we working on Unit 1 homework for the Udacity.com Computer Science 101 course. We talked about python code, variables, strings and other such elements.
After that we discussed the Glacier View Commons project. This is a community organizing effort to get people in the neighborhood excited about a property that is up for sale. A group of organizers think that it could be a really great community location.
I did a flyer for it, check it out:
We reviewed wireframes and discussed next steps.
I then attended a meeting with some of the organizers of the project (who met here).
After that I worked with the students on independent projects until we had to break early! Right now! See YA!
